After a huge response at their recent Diversity conference, Dr. Lillie
Howard of Wright State University recommended I let other Disability
offices know about my film, "On A Roll: Family, Disability and The
American Dream." The 1-hour film profiles 60-pound African American
talk show host, Greg Smith, and is followed by a 30-minute Q&A and/or
panel discussion with campus students with disabilities (optional is a
keynote speech by Smith). Winner of the 2005 Audience Award from PBS
Independent Lens (pbs.org/onaroll). Recommended by The New York Times,
National Organization on Disability, Anti-Defamation League, and more.

Please contact me for more information about this powerful diversity
awareness program.

Recent campus feedback:

"This event was truly one of the most moving and inspiring experiences
I've had in my 16 years at the university. I've been teaching about
"diversity" topics for many years, and this film demonstrates, in a
uniquely compelling way, how race, gender, disability, and class issues
interact. Every university student, faculty and staff member must see
this film!"
Kelli Zaytoun, PhD
Director, Women's Studies
Assistant Professor, English
Wright State University

"In my view, "On A Roll" provides for a superb educational experience.
I am the chair of the American Sociological Society's annual
meeting...and I will request a screening to inform its 7000 attendees
about its usefulness, particularly in classrooms."
Steven Dandaneau, PhD
Director, University Honors Program
University of Dayton

"In my opinion, this film needs to be seen on every college campus.
There seems to be a wider range of students now able to go to college
and this has begun to broaden our vision that the world, indeed, needs
all kinds of minds/bodies/personalities to thrive..."
Erin Salva, Director
Disability Services
Kenyon College

"Overwhelmingly well received by those who attended. I would encourage
college students to see this film...a clear and concise view of how far
we've come, but how far we have yet to go."
Jon Purple, Ph.D
Student Life Office
Cedarville University
