Good Morning, All!
Can you provide the rate that you currently pay your ASL interpreters
since they are now required to be certified? The day time interpreters
I use are usually supplied by Statewide Interpreting Services (SIS) and
they charge a $60.00 per hour rate with a 2 hour minimum. Currently
University of Phoenix pays our interpreters for evening classes (which
most are) a rate of $38 per hour. Since our classes met one night a
week for four hours, we are required to employ two interpreters for each
class session. We also pay an interpreter scheduler $7.50 per hour for
any interpreting services that she schedules. Since October when all
interpreters were required to be certified, our interpreters and the
scheduler are asking for a rate increase, so I wish to get an idea of
what others are paying before we do any negotiating.
Thank you for your replies,
Jane
