(scroll down to see e-mail from Katrina Miller) I wonder if we will be forced to change our policy and start approving the TPD waiver for VR students. In my fantasy, perhaps THEC will take a look at the whole TPD waiver statute---a statute that is significantly outdated. Governor Ramsey's office. A constituent sent him a letter asking why the law excluded the elderly and disabled receiving funds from the Vocational Rehabilitation program from also receiving funds from the law providing a tuition waiver for the elderly and disabled (T.C.A. 49-7-113). Since THEC does not administer these programs, we are trying to get a handle on the number of students served and the costs associated with these programs. Could you tell me the number of students receiving voc rehab benefits, the average award amount, and total cost of the program for your respective systems? Also, do you know the number of students and the cost of the tuition waiver for the elderly and disabled in your systems? If you could help me out with some numbers so we can respond to the Lt.
